NEW STRIPS for 2011!
SOUND TECHNIQUES SYSTEM A
We now have a prototype which is undergoing extensive testing.
They are all based on the ‘A range’ of mixers that we supplied to professional studios in the late 60s and early 70s. They use the same circuits and most of the original components and contain full passive EQ.
SYSTEM 'A' Mic pre, EQ and bus:
- Self powered, including phantom power, mic pre and EQ strip in one 3.5” rack case.
- All inputs and outputs transformer (Balanced) isolated. Outputs at +22dbm into 600 ohms.
- PFL, Mute and Solo. The PFL and solo functions mute all other units by simply looping all the solo bus connections.
- Mini, buffered, VU meter.
- Phase reversal.
- EQ: High frequency boost/cut and two bandwidth positions. Frequencies of 2, 3, 4, 5, 8, 10 and 12 kHz.
- Boost of 0, 2, 4, 6, 8 10 12,14 and 18db.
- Simultaneous cut of 0, 1.5, 3, 4.5, 6 7.5, 9, 12 and 14db.
- Low frequency boost or cut of 3, 6, 8, 10 and 14db, at a choice of 80 or 150kHz.
- EQ cut.
- Pre-fader insert.
- Pan pot – to any 10ohm summing amplifier, including ours.
SYSTEM 'A' Summing Amplifier
- Housed in a 2U rack mount.
- Pair of 10 ohm self powered summing amplifiers.
- Balanced transformer inputs and outputs.
- Monitor section with gain, mute, dim and mono.
- Provision for tape/DAW return.
The strips, together with the summing amplifier(s) could be used to configure a console of virtually any size.
Please note that final specifications, prices and delivery dates are yet to be confirmed.
Introduction
Progress list!
The origonal mic/line amp from 1965. Single sided PCB and on paxolin.
The "New" mic/line amp in 2011.
Same design as in 66
Mic relay switching
At last! Same design as in 66. Balanced transformer in and outs. All transistor except for VU buffer amp.
