LOST
In about 1996, a UK-based American serviceman purchased this Sound Techniques desk - which was the second one we’d built for Chelsea - and took it back to the States. He desperately wanted to restore it but didn't have a complete set of schematics (circuit diagrams - to us). We exchanged emails for some six months and I believed all was going quite well.
But the last email I had from him stated, "The Sheriff has given us 10 minutes to evacuate the house!”. He went on to explain that his family’s home was in the path of a hurricane due to arrive in the next 20 minutes. He said that the basement - where the desk lived - was already under two feet of water and if I didn't hear from him again, it would mean his house (and the desk) had been destroyed.
I never heard from him again…”
